Kulbir is a Professional Engineer, licensed in the Province of Ontario, and has more than 27 years of national and international experience in geotechnical, hydroelectric and civil engineering. His representative engineering experience includes analysis, design and evaluation of concrete dams; investigation and design of underground structures including adits, shafts, tunnels and caverns; assessment and grading/construction observation for mass-graded residential, commercial and industrial developments; geotechnical investigations for numerous types of structures involving both shallow and deep foundations including bearing capacity, settlement, seepage and drainage analyses; analysis of slope stability and streambank erosion (valleylands and shoreline) conforming to the guidelines of various conservation authorities in Ontario; excavation support designs, retaining walls, reinforced earth, and underpinning systems.
Kulbir has extensive geotechnical engineering experience, in general in Ontario, and in particular in the Gteater Toronto Area (GTA), and his recent major assignments includes the geotechnical investigation for Toronto-York Spadina Subway Extension Project (TYSSE) and existing TTC subway infrastructure. Kulbir has designed the concrete gravity dam, and one of the World’s longest Power Tunnel (27 km long, 10.15 m finished diameter) of Nathpa Jhakri Hydroelectric Project (150MW).
Kulbir is skilled in the use of a variety of geotechnical and numerical analysis software packages, in particular Ansys, Slope/W, Slide, Phase2, Unwedge. Dips.
